2000-ben, a millennium évében rendezett először szakmai konferenciát a Kőfaragó és Műkőkészítő Vállalkozók Országos Ipartestülete. A köves szakma legjelentősebb hazai rendezvénye, a Nemzetközi Kőkonferencia március 22-én immár 25. születésnapját ünnepelhette hagyományos helyszínén, a pilisvörösvári Schiller Gimnáziumban. A kőkonferencia egész napos rendezvény, két rövid szünet mellett 15-20 szakmai előadást foglal magában a legkülönbözőbb témákban, a kövek kitermelésétől kezdve a megmunkáláson és az állagmegóváson át a temetők üzemeltetéséig.
